CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. – Former Campbellsville University baseball standout Chris Curley has been selected for induction into the Campbellsville University Athletics Hall of Fame after a record-setting career that helped elevate the Tigers to national prominence.
Curley will be honored as part of Campbellsville University's 2026 Hall of Fame class Saturday, Oct. 17, during pregame festivities before Fighting Tiger football hosts Cumberland University. Kickoff against the Cumberland Phoenix is scheduled for 1:30 p.m. ET.
A Business Management major, Curley earned First Team All-Mid-South Conference recognition in each of his first two seasons at Campbellsville. He was also named First Team All-Region as a freshman.
Curley led the Tigers with a .379 batting average, 80 hits, four triples, and 55 RBIs in 2007. He added 14 doubles, seven home runs, and five stolen bases while appearing in 58 games. Curley also contributed on the mound, finishing 5-1 in 11 appearances.
He followed with another productive season in 2008, batting .364 with a team-high 63 hits. Curley recorded 14 doubles, three triples, 11 home runs, 40 runs, 39 RBIs, and a team-leading 11 stolen bases.
Curley's Campbellsville career culminated with a historic 2009 season. He was named the Mid-South Conference Player of the Year after batting .413 with 76 hits, 15 doubles, three triples, 64 runs, and 69 RBIs. His 19 home runs established Campbellsville's single-season record.
Curley helped the Tigers win the 2009 NAIA Opening Round championship and advance to the NAIA World Series for the first time in program history. The season also concluded Campbellsville's run of five consecutive Mid-South Conference tournament championships from 2005 through 2009.
Across three seasons, Curley batted .386 with 219 hits, 140 runs, 43 doubles, 10 triples, 37 home runs, 163 RBIs, and 28 stolen bases. He also made 18 pitching appearances and earned seven victories.
Curley played eight years of professional baseball and advanced to the Triple-A level. He played within organizations affiliated with the Atlanta Braves, Chicago White Sox, Los Angeles Angels, and Miami Marlins. Curley reached Triple-A with the Charlotte Knights in 2015.
His top professional season came with the Winston-Salem Dash in 2013. Curley batted .280 with 149 hits, 24 home runs, 90 runs, and 92 RBIs in 136 games. He was named the Carolina League Most Valuable Player, earned midseason and postseason all-star recognition, and was selected as a MiLB.com Chicago White Sox Organization All-Star.
Curley was later selected by the Los Angeles Angels in the first round of the Rule 5 Draft.
Following his playing career, Curley transitioned into baseball instruction and player development. He opened Curley Hitting in 2017 and serves as a coach and director within the Florence Y'alls amateur baseball program.
The program focuses on helping players develop their skills and pursue opportunities to compete in college. During its first nine years, more than 100 athletes from the program went on to play college baseball. Curley also mentors young athletes as they progress from youth baseball toward the college level.
Curley is married to Cassidy Curley, and they have two children, John and Quinn.
His Hall of Fame induction recognizes a career marked by sustained production, conference and professional honors, a central role in one of Campbellsville baseball's most successful eras, and a continued commitment to developing the next generation of players.
