Biography

This Season at CU: Nathan Cooper returns for his fourth season at Campbellsville University. Coming off two surgeries to his throwing arm, Cooper has re-earned the Tiger's starting role at quarterback. Coming off the bench in the 2011 season opener, Cooper threw for 85.6 percent in the first half against Union College and led the Tigers to two touchdowns in the final 2:22 before halftime, regaining a 24-14 Tiger win. He went on to throw for more than 250 yards in the game, moving him to second on the Tigers' all-time career passing yards list and he broke the school record for career passing completions (previously 209). He is also closing in on the Tigers' career passing attempts record.

2010: Cooper saw action in only three games as a redshirt sophomore as he battled to recover from offseason shoulder surgery. He completed 25 of his 39 pass attempts and had four touchdowns compared to two interceptions. On Sept. 25, he came off the bench to lead CU to victory over Lindsey Wilson College, throwing for 165 yards and a touchdown in the 48-30 win. He completed 10-of-12 passes to set the Tigers' single-game completion percentage record at 83.3 percent. He was named a Mid-South Conference All-Academic and NAIA Scholar Athlete selection for his work in the classroom.

2009: As a redshirt freshman, Cooper threw for 2,067 yards and 11 touchdowns, as he helped guide the Tigers' to their first winning season since 2003. He also ran for 228 yards and four touchdowns. He threw for more than 200 yards in six games, including five for more than 250 yards. On Oct. 1 he was named the Player of the Game in the NAIA Game of the Week victory on the road at No. 10 Shorter College. Cooper completed 21-of-32 passes for 273 yards and a touchdown in the win with no interceptions. His career-high came in the Tigers' final home game, throwing for 346 yards and three touchdowns on 21-of-31 passing against Union College. He received his first collegiate start Sept. 19 at home against Lambuth University after throwing for 231 yards and a touchdown as the Tigers' backup at Carson-Newman College the previous week.
