CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. –
Andrew Smith garnered Mid-South Conference Men's Basketball Player of the Week honors for the third time this season, the conference office announced on Monday afternoon.
Smith also earned the honor in back-to-back weeks in December. This is the junior's third career weekly honor.
In two road victories last week, Smith averaged 18.5 points and nine rebounds. He also recorded a field goal percentage of 60.7 percent to push the Tigers winning streak to three games.
During Campbellsville's 67-65 road win over No. 2 Lindsey Wilson College, Smith scored 17 points on 8-of-15 shooting and led the way with nine rebounds, while chipping in with an assist.
To cap off the week, Smith notched his fifth 20-point game of the season in an 87-77 road win over Cumberland University. He finished the night with 20 points and nine rebounds. To go along with 9-of-13 shooting, Smith dished out an assist and notched a steal.
On the season, Smith ranks seventh in the nation with 37 blocks and its 13th with 185 rebounds. The native of Johnson City, Tennessee is shooting 58.6 percent from the floor this year and ranked 16th in the NAIA.
With earning his third weekly honor of the season, Smith joins Georgetown College's Shadell Millinghaus as the only two individuals from the conference to earn the award for the third time.
Campbellsville returns to action Thursday night at 8 p.m. ET against No. 5 Georgetown on road inside the Davis-Reid Alumni Gymnasium.
