GREENVILLE, S.C. — The National Christian College Athletic Association announced the first installment of the 2018 Student Athletes of the Week and Campbellsville University's
Kendon Youngand
Austin Hash both earned the football award.
Young and Hash, both products of local Campbellsville High School, had stellar games on Saturday in the season opener vs. No. 24 Faulkner University.
In the 16-10 loss, Young had over 100 all-purpose yards to lead Campbellsville. He finished with 44 rushing yards on seven carries with a touchdown and also had three catches for 48 yards. In addition, his two kick returns totaled 52 yards.
Hash, a junior linebacker, tied the Campbellsville program record with two fumble recoveries against Faulkner. He also picked up his first-career sack and had a tackle for loss in his season debut.
The NCCAA honor is the first for Young and Hash in their careers.
Campbellsville (0-1) fell to Faulkner 16-10 on Saturday and will hit the road this weekend to travel to Webber International University. Kickoff is scheduled for 1:30 p.m. ET at Legion Field in Lakeland, Fla.
