COLUMBIA, Ky. – For the second week in a row, Campbellsville men's basketball senior guard,
Stephaun Adams was named the Mid-South Conference's Player of the Week.
In the two games CU played last week, Adams averaged 23 points, seven rebounds and six assists to lead the team in points and assists and be third in rebounds. Compared to his numbers the first time he won Player of the Week on Nov. 19, he improved in scoring and rebounding while only averaging one less assist per game.
The highlight of his week came in Saturday's 116-72 win over Allen University last Saturday when the Virgin Islands native scored a career-high 30 points while adding eight rebounds and four assists. Adams shot 10-for-20 from the field (50%) and 7-for-13 from three (54%).
In Friday's 93-69 win over Berkeley College, Adams scored 16 points while assisting on eight baskets and grabbing six rebounds, all on the defensive side of the floor.
As he did last week, Adams led the Tigers in minutes played for the week with a total of 64 to average 32 minutes per game. He also led CU in steals with four on the week and also added a blocked shot.
His shooting percentages on the week were just slightly better than his season averages as he shot 48 percent from the field in the two game and 50 percent from three. On the season he's averaging 46 percent from the field and 47 percent from three.
Adams and the Tigers will go back to a traditional schedule this week instead of the back-to-backs they played in the last two weeks. Tuesday they will host East-West University and Saturday Central Pennsylvania College.
