CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. – Logan Roberts was selected as the Mid-South Conference Baseball of the Week for the first time in his career, the conference office announced on Monday afternoon.
Roberts becomes the first Tiger this season to garner MSC weekly honors after helping Campbellsville go 6-1 last week.
The senior posted a .538 batting average this past week after recording at least two hits in all but one game in his seven appearances.
After going 3-for-5 to start action last week, Roberts went 3-for-4 in the second half of a doubleheader against Shawnee State University recording two home runs and three RBIs. In the next three games, Roberts went 2-for-4 in each contest scoring a combined five runs and driving in three runs.
In the only game Roberts did not register a hit, he still drove in three runs and notched two walks, highlighted by a game-tying, bases-loaded walk in the Tigers 10-9 come from behind victory over University of Pikeville. In the 10-9 victory, Campbellsville erased a 9-2 deficit to earn the victory.
Entering last week, Roberts was hitting just over .260, but after going 14-for-26 he moved his average up to .349 and now leads the team with 26 RBIs after 10 this past week. Robert is now second on the team with eight home runs this season.
Robert is also second on the team with a .651 slugging percentage after slugging .885 this past week. After going 6-1 last week, the Tigers are now 24-10 overall on the season and second in the Mid-South Conference with a 5-2 record.
Campbellsville has another busy week on tap starting on Tuesday afternoon at 4 p.m. ET against Midway University at HIG Field.
