BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – For the second consecutive week, Campbellsville University men's soccer will take home the Mid-South Conference Offensive and Defensive Player of the Week honors as
Sebastiano Musu and
Jeremi Campagnolo earned the weekly recognition Monday afternoon.
Campagnolo will get the defensive honor for the second-straight week and third week overall as he only gave up two goals in three games to earn his fourth and fifth wins on the season. In CU's 3-0 win over Dallas Baptist, Campagnolo made three saves, the most he had to make in a game up to that point, to start pool play.
In all three games, Campagnolo played a full 90-minute game to make a total nine saves with a pair of saves against Erskine and four saves in their 1-0 loss to Grace in the NCCAA semifinals.
Musu is the third different Tiger to earn Offensive Player of the Week this season after
Gustav Oskarsson and
Tom Edge were able to secure the honor on Sept. 21 and Nov. 16 respectively. Musu scored a goal in each of CU's wins against Dallas Baptist and Erskine as he also assisted on the Tigers' game winning goal against Erskine for a total of five points in the tournament.
Campbellsville men's soccer has completed competition for the fall of 2020 and will now head into the winter break to prepare for the spring Mid-South Conference schedule that will begin on Sunday, Feb. 14.
