CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. —
Aleigha Talsma was named the Mid-South Conference Pitcher of the Week, officials announced on Monday afternoon.
Talsma, a freshman from Hudsonville, Mich., earns her first-career honor after making her Lady Tiger debut this weekend.
She went 17 innings, picking up two wins and striking out 10 during the RussMat Softball Classic.
Talsma pitched a complete game in Campbellsville's 4-2 win over No. 22 Southeastern allowing four hits with one earned run and striking out four. She then pitched another complete game in the Lady Tigers' 3-1 win over Bryan with one unearned run on six hits and three strikeouts.
On the final day of The Classic, Talsma started and went three innings in Campbellsville's 9-6 win over Keiser allowing two earned runs on five hits and striking out three.
The Lady Tigers started the year with a 5-1 record and were scheduled to travel to Union College on Wednesday afternoon for a doubleheader but it has been postponed until March 14.
CU is scheduled to travel to Reinhardt University this weekend for a tournament but the decision on that tournament is being made on Wednesday afternoon.
