For the first time in her career,
Madison Clements has earned Mid-South Conference Player of the Week honors, officials announced on Monday.
Clements, a redshirt junior guard from Clementsville, Tenn., led Campbellsville (4-0) to a pair of wins last week over No. 21 Talladega and Bluefield State College.
One week ago at Talladega, Clements scored five of her 19 points in the final 20 seconds to propel the Lady Tigers to 73-72 victory.
With under 20 seconds to play, Clements rebounded a miss 3-pointer and would sink her own triple to knot the game at 71. After a made free throw by Talladega, Clements came right back with six seconds remaining to hit a runner in the lane at the buzzer.
On Saturday against Bluefield State, Clements pitched in another 19 points, while hitting a trio of 3-point baskets in the 198-41 victory.
On the week, Clements scored 19 points in both games, while making five 3-point baskets. She finished hitting 16-of-24 (.666) from the floor overall. In addition she finished with six rebounds, four steals and two assists.
Clements currently ranks fourth in the conference in scoring at 16.5 points per game, No. 8 in field goal percentage (51.9%), No. 6 in 3-point field percentage (38.5%) and No. 5 in total 3-pointers made (10).
Campbellsville has a full week off before hosting its first home game of the season in a rematch against Talladega on Monday, Nov. 21. Tipoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. in Powell Athletic Center.
