COLUMBIA, Ky. – In the first week of competition for Campbellsville women's volleyball, senior libero Jaimie Thompson earned her second-career Mid-South Conference Defender of the Week honor.
 
Thompson was the defensive standout for the Lady Tigers in their four matches at the MSC Challenge, playing in every set for CU except for one as they went 3-1 on the weekend. Thompson recorded a team-high 74 digs in 12 sets played for a 6.17 digs per set average. The Owensboro, Ky. native also added a pair of aces on the serve and 13 assists to her totals over the four matches.
 
Campbellsville picked up victories over Loyola (N.O.), Union, and Point with their only defeat coming against Reinhardt in four sets. The Lady Tigers swept all three of their victories 3-0 with their only set losses coming in their defeat to Reinhardt.
 
The Lady Tigers will open up their home schedule this Tuesday when they welcome Martin Methodist to Campbellsville. The match will start at 7 p.m. ET at the newly renovated Gosser Gymnasium as the Lady Tigers will look to jump out to a 4-1 start to their 2019 campaign.
