CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. — Campbellsville's Alexander Salazar shined in his first year as a Tiger and led the Mid-South Conference in multiple statistical categories. 
 
Salazar, a junior right-hand pitcher from Hyogo, Japan, appeared and started in five games for the Tigers after transferring from Riverside Community College. 
 
In his five starts, Salazar tossed 30.2 innings allowing 19 hits, six earned runs, struck out a team-high 50 and opponents hit just .173 off the righty. He finished with an ERA of 1.76. 
 
Salazar shined in a start against Siena Heights on Feb. 22 striking out a career-high 14 batters through eight innings and allowing two hits overall. He faced two over the minimum earning the win.
