ALLENTOWN, Pa. — In the final tournaments of the 2016 calendar year, Tiger and Lady Tiger bowling had solid showings up and down the entire roster at this past weeks Roto Grip Keystone Quaker and Lehigh Valley Classics.
The Lady Tigers led the way by placing second in the Lehigh Valley Classic and seventh in the Roto Grip Keystone Quaker Classic. The Tigers had an impressive eighth place finish at the Roto Grip and 11th in the Lehigh Valley.
In the Roto Grip, three Lady Tigers placed in the Top 23. Led by
Katlyn Hoeh's 15th place score of 947, she finished the tournament with an average score of 189.4 and bowled her highest game of 222.
Bailey James and
Keysha Martin finished in 20th and 23rd, respectively. James finished by knocking down 893 pins and Martin was right behind her with 858.
For the Tigers, the ever-so-consistent
Andrew Lissik placed 12th with a total pin count of 1,050. He finished with an average score of 210 and bowled his highest game at 236.
Freshman
McKinley Knopp placed 18th with a pin count of 1,034 and
Devon Gunderson knocked down 1,014 to finish 23rd.
University of Pikeville won the women's tournament, while University of Wisconsin-Whitewater paced the men.
At the Lehigh Valley Classic, the Lady Tigers led the 13-team field with a pin count of 4,880. Notre Dame was right behind CU with a pin count of 4,669.
But the Baker Games went the way of University of Pikeville, as the Bears jumped seven spots with a total pin count of 3,866 in Baker's to win the women's tournament.
Individually, the Lady Tigers had four student-athletes finish in the Top 11.
Crystal Land led the way with a runner-up finish – just 49 pins out of first. She finished with an average of 204 in her five games bowled and tallied a high-game of 268 – the second-highest of the tourney.
Keysha Martin place sixth (998),
Katlyn Hoeh was ninth (980),
Kylah Martin was 11th (977).
Bailey James was just outside the Top 20 by three pins. James finished 21st with 904 total pins.
On the men's side, the Tigers were in eighth after Day 1 with a team score of 4,860 but a Baker score of 3612 dropped them to 11th.
Leading the Tigers at the Lehigh Valley Classic was
Ryan Bremer. He totaled 1,065 pins with an average of 213 and high score of 263 to finish fifth.
Andrew Lissik was just outside the Top 20 by 11 pins and finished 25th (1,001).
Robert Morris led the tournament throughout to place first with 9,126 total pins.
Campbellsville will now have 28 days before competing in the Lindsey Wilson College Baker Classic on Saturday, Jan. 28.
