CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. —
Clay Valenzuela-Reece and
Nick Przybylek were named the Mid-South Conference Players of the Week, officials announced on Monday.
Valenzuela-Reece compiled a .409 batting average and a .727 slugging percentage over the five games last week.
Last Tuesday, he went 2-for-3 against Milligan College, including a home run and driving in three runs and scoring three times in CU's 11-7 road victory.
No. 14 Campbellsville pulled an upset over No. 4 Tennessee Wesleyan and Valenzuela-Reece was a major factor. He registered four hits, including a double in the Tigers 8-4 win.
The weekly award is Valenzuela-Reece's first of his career.
Przybylek, a senior from Riverside, Calif., made two appearances last week and earned two wins. In two innings of relief, Przybylek did not allow a hit or a walk and struck out three batters in the Tigers 11-7 win over Milligan.
In the 8-4 win over the Bulldogs on Friday, Przybylek pitched six innings, allowing three runs on seven hits, but he struck out seven.
After a 2-3 record last week, the Tigers currently sit with an overall record of 8-5 overall.
The weekly award is the third of Przybylek's career.
Campbellsville is scheduled to host Brescia on Wednesday, March 1 at 2 p.m. ET.
