Campbellsville's Jared Welander is the Mid-South Conference Baseball Pitcher of the Week, conference officials announced today.
 
Welander, a junior from Shelton, Wash. earned the Tigers' only victory last week as he helped Campbellsville to a 10-6 win over Lindsey Wilson.
 
In 5-1/3 innings of work out of the bullpen, he allowed just one earned run on two hits and three walks, while striking out five batters. Campbellsville went 1-3 last week to move to 19-14 on the year and 7-5 in the conference.
 
The weekly honor is Welander's first of the season and of his career.
 
Campbellsville plays on the road at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 5 at Indiana University Southeast.
