CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. –
McKinley Knopp was named the Mid-South Conference Men's Bowler of the Week for the first time this season and first time in his career, the conference office announced on Monday.
Knopp led Campbellsville to a second-place finish at its Green River Classic this past weekend. The sophomore compiled a five-game individual total of 1,023 pins and he was the lone bowler to break 1,000 total pins at the event.
He recorded back-to-back games of over 200 after he tossed a 236 in his second game of the day, followed by a 242 during his third game.
Knopp averaged 204.6 over his five games and finished 63 pins ahead of his teammate,
Austin Montgomery, who finished second overall.
As a team, the Tigers finished second in the 10-team field with a grand total of 6,660 pins and they moved up a spot after holding a day one pin total of 4,444.
Campbellsville is back in action this weekend at the Louisville Collegiate Classic and the Thomas Burris Memorial Classic. Both tournaments are MSC regular season events and take place in Louisville, Ky.
