CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. –
Keanu Young and
Justin Manning were selected as the Mid-South Conference Bluegrass Division Offensive and Defensive Players of the Week, the conference office announced on Monday.
This is the second time this season; the Tigers have captured the offensive and defensive weekly honors in the division.
Hunter Brown and
BJ Pelt won the honors during the first week of the season.
The duo of Young and Manning helped Campbellsville pickup an overtime victory at Bethel University on Saturday, 43-37. This was the Tigers first game in 27 days.
Young helped pace the Campbellsville offense making 11 catches for 200 yards and a touchdown. The 11 catches by Young are tied for fifth-most in a single game in program history. The junior also etched his name in the record books with the second 200-yard receiving game in school history. His 200 yards are also second most in the program record book, following
Tyus Alcorn's 235 receiving yards last year against Union College.
This season, Young leads the Campbellsville wide receivers with 23 catches for 278 yards. He is also third on the team with 11 rushes for 50 yards and two touchdowns.
Manning finished with game highs in solo tackles (10) and total tackles (16) to lead the Campbellsville defense. He led the Tigers with 1-1/2 sacks against Bethel, which recording 2-1/2 tackles for loss and a pass breakup.
During the first three games of the season, the native of Seffner, Florida leads the Tiger defense with 37 total tackles – which include team-highs in assisted (20) and solo tackles (17). Manning also has 4-1/2 tackles for loss and 1-1/2 sacks, to go along with a pair of pass breakups and forced fumble.
This is the first career weekly honor for both Young and Manning.
Rounding out the MSC Bluegrass Division honors is Lindsey Wilson College's Quinten Brown – who was named the Special Teams Player of the Week.
