CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. –
Yudai Yamauchi was selected as the Mid-South Conference Offensive Player of the Week, the conference office announced on Monday afternoon.
Yamauchi scored three times last week en route to a pair of shutout of victories last week.
To start the week, the sophomore scored two times against University of the Cumberlands as the Tigers picked up a 3-0 victory. He scored the game-winning goal in the 75th minute and he added an insurance goal five minutes later.
On the road against Shawnee State University, he capped off his scoring with goal in the 32nd minute to round Campbellsville's four-goal first half in a 10-0 victory. Saturday's match was the first time all season Campbellsville reached double-digit goals and first time since Oct. 25, 2016 in an 11-0 win over Life University.
Yamauchi ranks second on the team with three assists and is third on the team with six goals and 15 points.
Campbellsville is now 11-1-1 on the season with a 5-0-1 mark in Mid-South Conference action.
The Tigers host No. 11 Lindsey Wilson College on Wednesday night at 8 p.m. ET. The winner of the match on Wednesday captures the MSC regular season championship.
Rounding out the MSC weekly honors is Cumberland University's Bennet Strutz, who was named the MSC Defender of the Week.
