CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. – Chuck Sharon garnered Mid-South Conference Wrestler of the Week accolades for the first time this season and fourth time in his career, the conference office announced Monday.
In his second tournament of the season, Sharon went 4-0 at the Ohio Northern University Invitational to win the 184-pound weight class.
Sharon started out the invitational with pins of Ohio Northern's Bret Lane and Alma College's Wesley Barnes. Over the first two matches, the senior did not have to wrestle past the first period.
In the semifinals, Sharon defeated Ryan Clark of Olivet College in an 8-1 decision. Then in the final, Sharon earned a 9-4 decision over Hayden Bronne from Tiffin University to win the bracket. Coming into the championship bout, Bronne pinned his previous three opponents in the first period.
On the season, Sharon has earned a first-place and second-place finish compiling a record of 6-1 on the season.
This is Sharon's fourth weekly of his career.
Campbellsville heads to Fort Wayne, Indiana this weekend for the Indiana Institute of Technology Warrior Duals on Saturday.
