Campbellsville, Kentucky – Sixth ranked Campbellsville built a double-digit lead in the first half and held on to win 69-57 despite a late Berry College run in a men's basketball game tonight. The Tigers are now 12-2 on the season.
Campbellsville led 36-28 at halftime and Berry cut the lead down to four points on two occasions in the second half, but the Tigers spread the lead back out to 13 points and never looked back in their ninth straight win.
Campbellsville didn't have the best night offensively this season, shooting just 31% from the floor in the second half, but a stingy Tiger defense held the Vikings to just 7% shooting from the three point line and only 34.5% from the floor for the game.
Bubba Long (SR/Owensboro, KY) led all scorers with 23 points while Nestor Colmenares (JR/Caracas, Venezuela) recorded his eighth double/double of the season with 17 points and 13 rebounds.
Campbellsville does not play again until January 2, 2008 when it hosts Brescia at 7:30 p.m.
