Campbellsville, Kentucky -
Nestor Colmenares (JR/Caracas, Venezuela) scored 33 points and grabbed 18 rebounds to lead Campbellsville University to an 84-64 win over Brescia University tonight in the Powell Athletic Center.
Campbellsville, ranked sixth in NAIA Division I, led 44-37 at halftime but spread the margin to 23 points, 67-44 with 8:51 remaining. Brescia then went on a 15-2 run to cut the lead to 69-59 with 5:42 left in the game before the Tigers rallied to end the game on 15-4 run.
A combined total of 51 fouls was called in the contest and both teams were 21 of 34 from the free-throw line.
Bubba Long (SR/Owensboro, KY) scored 19 points while Marcus Nicks (JR/Ellicott City, MD) added 11 points in the win for the Tigers who improve to 13-2 and have now won ten straight games.
Campbellsville hosts Northwestern Ohio on Friday at 8:00 p.m. The game is the nightcap of a double-header as the Lady Tigers host Northwestern Ohio at 6:00 p.m
