Men's Basketball Eleven Game Winning Streak Snapped in 60-59 Loss at Berry College

Mt. Berry, GA – The 6th ranked Campbellsville University Tigers saw their eleven game winning streak come to an end tonight in a 60-59 upset loss at Berry College.

Campbellsville took its only lead of the game with :42 seconds remaining when Nestor Colmenares (JR/Caracas, Venezuela)hit a lay up to make the score 59-58.  Berry's Daniel Ferguson hit two free throws with :22 left on the clock to put the Vikings up 60-59 and when a three-pointer at the buzzer by Marcus Nicks (JR/Ellicott City, MD) bounced off the rim, the Tigers had lost their third game of the season.

Berry led by as many as ten points in the game. The Vikings made 11 three pointers and outrebounded the Tigers 31-29.   Campbellsville was never able to get into synch offensively as Berry played a zone for most of the game and controlled the tempo, which allowed a combined total of only four points on fast breaks.

Nicks led Campbellsville with 17 points while Bubba Long (SR/Owensboro) contributed 14 in the loss.  Colmenares recorded his 11th double/double of the season with 11 points and 12 rebounds.

Campbellsville falls to 14-3 while Berry improves to 10-6.  The Tigers host IU East on Saturday at 4:00 p.m.
