Campbellsville stepped back into NCAA Division I play for the second time this season tonight in Bowling Green as the Tigers faced Western Kentucky University. The game counted as an exhibition for the Tigers, but was the first regular season game for the Hilltoppers.
Â
The Tigers spotted the Toppers the first twelve points of the game and Campbellsville didn't score until 13:59 to play in the first half when
Aaron Wyatt connected. The Tigers struggled to 25% shooting in the first half and allowed Western to build a 34-16 halftime lead.
Â
Campbellsville fought back and scored ten of the first 12 second-half points and with just over 10:00 to play had the lead down to 9 at 41-32. But Western went on a 9-2 run at that point and Campbellsville would never challenge down the stretch from there.
Â
Zach Allender had a game high 19 points for Campbellsville.  The Tigers continue a tour of NCAA Division I schools on Thursday when they face Samford University in Birmingham, Alabama in another exhibition.
