Campbellsville couldn't overcome a red-hot shooting performance by NCAA Samford over the first nine minutes of an exhibition basketball game in Birmingham, Alabama tonight and lost 73-54.
Â
Samford made 9 of their first 10 shots from the floor and built a 17 point lead in the first half, and extended that to 26 points midway through the final frame.
Â
"There's just no way to prepare for what they do offensively and defensively," said CU Head Coach Keith Adkins after the game. "They run such a different style of offense and some tricky defenses that are just hard to reproduce in practice," he added.
Â
Campbellsville was led by the 11 point performance of
Aaron Wyatt and opens the home portion of the 2008 season on Saturday against Evangel. The Tigers are 1-2 overall.
