Down 11-4 with 15:18Â to play in the first half, Campbellsville went on a 30-0 run that began with an
Aaron Wyatt three pointer and was capped wtih a two point basket by
Terrill Holley at the 5:59 mark as Campbellsville coasted to a 79-48 win over Virginia Intermont. The game was the nightcap of the 9th annual Lou Cunningham Classic hosted by the Tigers. Â
Â
Campbellsville shot 7 of 10 from the three point line in the first half and was 57% from the floor in the first half.  That improved to 61.5% in the second frame.
Â
However, perhaps more impressive was the Tiger defense, which held a Virginia Intermont team that averaged 84 points per game to just 48 points on the night.
Â
"Tonight we saw what this team is capable of doing, " said CU coach Keith Adkins. "I told our guys that November would be tough and I take responsibility for that because I scheduled tough games, but I really believe it will help us down the road. But tonight, I saw that hustle and intensity that we had been missing the last  couple of games," he added.
