Campbellsville Places Third in East Regional; 12 Wrestlers Going to Nationals

Lebanon, Tennessee - Campbellsville University's Wrestling team placed third in the NAIA East Regional Tournament this weekend held at Cumberland University in Lebanon, Tennessee.  The Tigers, ranked 7th in the latest NAIA ratings, had two weight champions, one runner-up, one third place and five fourth place finishes to tally 109 points.   2nd ranked McKendree won the tournament with a team score of 156, followed by top rated Lindenwood who finished wiht 143.5 points.
 
From Campbellsville, David Clemens won the 157-pound weight class while Johnny Sinchok took top honors in the 174-pound weight division.


Campbellsville has qualified fourteen wrestlers for the NAIA National Wrestling Tournament, March 6-8, in Sioux City, Iowa.   However, each team can have only twelve participants.
