The Campbellsville University Lady Tigers cross country team learned to run a smarter race and finished 22nd among NCAA Divisions I-III and NAIA schools in the Greater Louisville Classic at Tom Sawyer State Park on Saturday. Although two of the top runners were sick the other ladies picked their teammates up and gave great support as they edged out Mid-South Conference rival Georgetown College.
Daisy Perez led the Lady Tigers by finishing 69th with the time of 20:57.
Amy Etherington stepped up as she ran 21:19 and finished 91st. Right behind Etherington was
Natasha Janes, finishing 97th in 21:25.
Tawny Vilchis finished 136th in the time of 22:00.
Starsha Fant placed 153rd running the time of 22:26.
Summer Rines finished 171st running 22:46. Recent addition Darjpalam Khurelbaatar placed 190th while running 23:59.Â
Kasey Vitkus placed 251st as she ran 24:29
The Lady Tigers take a breather with next weekend off. They look to gain back fellow injured runners Erin Collins and Meagan Pickett. CU travels to South Carolina for the South Carolina Upstate Invite on Oct. 17.
