Lindsey Wilson's Eric McPherson hit four free throws with under 10 seconds to go and Lindsey Wilson ended Campbellsville's hope of an upset with a 64-60 overtime win in the opening round of the Mid-South Conference Tournament in Frankfort on Friday.
Â
Campbellsville tied the game for the sixth time when Jordan Benock hit the first of two free throws with a minute to go in regulation, but Lindsey outscored the Tigers 10-6 in the extra five-minute period.
"We did what we wanted to on defense," said a Tiger coach Keith Adkins. "Offensively we just never could get it clicking."

McPherson led all scorers and rebounders with a double-double, 34 points and 12 rebounds. Zach Allender led Campbellsville with 25 points and six boards, fouling out with nine second left.
"He scored half of their points," Adkins said of McPherson. "This is an example of a team that had everything to play for and another that just couldn't get it together."
Lindsey tried to bury Campbellsville on a couple of occasions, leading 33-26 with 1:35 left in the first half and pulling out to 47-40 lead with eight minutes to go in regulation. But, Campbellsville always seemed to find a way to inch back in the game.
The Tigers were able to tie the score at 50-50 and actually led by three, 53-50, when Benock put back a Shawn Savage miss at the 2:39 mark.
Lindsey out-rebounded the Tigers 37-29, but the Blue Raiders shot nine fewer free throws.
Campbellsville, which was 3-7 from the three-point line in the first half, was able to make only 2 of 15 in the second.
"Give Lindsey a lot of credit," said Adkins. "They're a great basketball team and will do well in Kansas City (where nationals will be played).
Adkins summed up his teams 10-19 season as a never-ending struggle for his team to find an identity.
"We had a couple (players) leave, a couple didn't buy in and we had a series of injuries that we never could rebound from."
"We never had a full allotment of players, we never knew who was going to be playing and at what position."
Scoring: Shawn Savage 10, Jordan Benock 7, Hristo Petkov 13, Zach Allender 215, Aaron Wyatt 2, Justin Vitatoe 3.
