Campbellsville University finished third out of eight teams at the Franklin College Sodexo Grizzly Invite Saturday to open its women's cross country season in Franklin, Ind.

Tawny Vilchis led the way for the Lady Tigers, finishing 11th overall with a time of 20:38.48 in the 5K race. Two more Campbellsville runners, freshman
Natasha Janes and junior
Daisy Perez, finished within two minutes of Vilchis in 17th and 18th place, respectively. Janes crossed the finish line with a time of 20:57.36, while Perez ran the course in 21:09.96.

Amy Etherington was 27th overall with a time of 21:53.37, while Starsha Fany and
Summer Rines were 31st and 32snd with times of 22:23.28 and 22:24.21.
Meagan Pickett was 35th with a time of 22:27.81.
Kasey Vitkus had a time of 24:22.22 and was 49th. A total of 72 runners completed the race.

Heather Waterman of host Franklin College won the race with a time of 18:49.81, while Wilmington College won the team competition.

Campbellsville will compete Sept. 12 in the Centre College Invitational in Danville, Ky.
