Campbellsville's women finished second in a 28-team cross country meet and their male counterparts were 13th out of 29 as the two squads competed in the Greater Louisville Cross Country Classic Oct. 2.

Maggie Mattingly turned in a sixth place overall finish (19:19.75) to lead the Lady Tiger harriers. She got strong support from
Tawny Vilchis, 19th, 20:02.34; and Amy Ethrington, 21st, 20:03.17 in helping secure the impressive runner-up showing.
Others finishing for the Lady Tigers were:
Summer Rines, 37th, 20:54.85;
Emily Wesley, 79th, 21:52.45;
Daisy Perez, 92nd, 22:07.17;
Erin Collins, 106th, 22:24.00; Natahsa Janes, 116th, 22:39.15; and
Kasey Vitkus, 135th, 23:04.03.
Lipscomb University was first with 21 points, followed by Campbellsville's 142. Lindsey Wilson was fifth, Georgetown 11th and University of the Cumberlands 23rd.
On the men's side, Qualaun Reed turned in a 27:47.40 for a 53rd place finish. Other finishers for CU were: Andrew Simmons, 71st, 28:12.90; Armando Pina, 116th, 29:09.30; Christian Black, 120th, 29:14.20; Dashan Craft, 140th, 29:38.40; Bradley Harris, 150th, 29:57.60; David McKellar, 240th, 35:08.60; and Matt Oliver, 251st, 38:24.
Berea College won the men's division, with Georgetown College out of the MSC completing a seventh-place finish. University of the Cumberlands and Lindsey Wilson finished 21st and 27th, respectively.
