CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. -- Three of Campbellsville University's starting 11 during the record-setting 2010 season were recently named All-Americans by the National Christian College Athletic Association (NCCAA) for Division I Men's Soccer. Junior midfielder
Casey Clarke leads group as the only First Team selection, while freshmen
John Kennedy and
Jamie Allen are Second Team selections.
Clarke showed off at the NCCAA National Tournament to finalize his spot on the All-America First Team, as he netted a skillful game-winner in double overtime in the second round of the tournament and later scored the winner with five minutes to go in regulation of the fifth-place game. The goals helped CU finish the season with a pair of wins and set a new school record for wins in a season with 19.
The London, England native finished the year with eight goals, a personal best for a single season. He also had eight assists.
Leading CU in scoring this season was Allen, another England native. The freshman from Leicester, England was named Freshman of the Year by the Mid-South Conference and led CU with 22 goals this season.
Kennedy of Lochgilphead, Scotland anchored the Campbellsville defense, which held opponents to 1.33 goals per game and 11 shutouts.
All three were named to the NCCAA Mid-East Region Team, with Clarke being named the Mid-East Region Player of the year.
Campbellsville finished the season fifth in the NCCAA National Tournament with a record of 19-7.
