Campbellsville University opened its 2010 home season with a bang Wednesday, scoring 10 runs in the first inning of a double header against Midway College. CU went on to beat Midway 13-2 and 7-1 in the double header.
Alex Jane Clemmons hit two home runs in the double header and led CU with five RBIs, while
Bailey Dillender also homered and added four RBIs.
Dillender led the Tigers' offense, hitting a perfect 3-for-3 in game one with four RBIs.
Morgan Bullock followed with a pair of hits and three RBI.
Allison Horton and
Kacie Vincent also each had two hits.
Horton went the distance in the short five-inning game, striking out seven. She gave up just three hits.
In game two,
Alex Jane Clemmons brought in three runs with a first-inning home run. Vincent led CU with three hits while
Jordan Cornett had two.
Cassidy Kroeker struck out seven and allowed one hit off one hit and a walk.
CU (6-4) will host Davenport University on Saturday at 1 p.m.
