COLUMBIA, Ky. — CU swimmers swam five new events and set a season-best time in the women's 200 Medley and 400 Freestyle relays, but still lost to Lindsey Wilson and Union College in a tri-meet Saturday.

 

  

"We started the meet really well with a season-best time in our 200 Medley Relay, then had six more season-best times throughout the rest of the meet," said Coach Casey Smith. "Our 400 Free Relay also produced a season-best time."

 

Lindy Charity (200 Freestyle), Bailey Foxworth (200 Butterfly and 400 IM), Kyle Perkins (50 Freestyle), Jenna Rueff (100 Freestyle) swam first events for this season.

 

"I am especially proud of Shelby (Mattingly), who not only swam her season-best times, but also anchored both relays with times good enough for National Cuts." Smith continued. "Those times are not official and do not qualify her for nationals as an individual, but her times are always improving and I anticipate her qualifying in both the 50 and 100 Freestyle — possibility at our next meet.

 

"I am also very proud of the determination that I watched out of Bailey (Foxworth), and Marquise (Crosby) in their events."
