Box Score CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. — The Lady Tiger soccer team lost another game tonight as they fell to Cumberland University, 2-0.Campbellsville Coach, Thom Jones is frustrated with the outcome.
"We were well prepared for this game and executed the game plan early, but two little mistakes in the first half and they score," said Jones. "We had our chances to score and when we don't capitalize, we lose."
Campbellsville started the first half strong with eight shots in the initial 30 minutes. Cumberland didn't back down though, and after taking four shots of their own, forward, Kelsey Langille netted one with an assist from sophomore midfielder, Kaitlin Phillips. The freshman wasn't finished, scoring another only two minutes later, quickly taking the 0-0 match to 2-0 Cumberlands.
The Lady Tigers took another six shots in the second half, but their efforts were to no avail as sophomore Bulldog keeper, Lindsay Kitson had two saves.
Cumberland kept the pressure on in the second half, but also was unable to score against the Lady Tigers. CU junior keeper, Brandie Hagerman had an impressive 12 saves, eight coming in the last 45 minutes.
Langille led the Bulldogs with eight shots, while Campbellsville's shot leader was junior forward, Jessica Ralph.
The Tigers are now 2-4-1 on the season. Their next game will be Saturday, Sept. 22 on the road against the University of Pikeville at 4 p.m. To follow the Tigers, go to www.campbellsvilletigers.com.
