Johnson finishes Top 10, CU fourth in Asbury Invitational

WILMORE, Ky. – Sarah Johnson placed 10th at the Asbury University Invitational on Saturday to led Campbellsville University women's cross country, but the Lady Tigers finished fourth among four teams at the 5K race.

Johnson's time of 21:56.24 was the top among Mid-South Conference teams in attendance. Senior runner Rebekah Southwood was second for CU and 15th overall with a time of 22:38.81. Mallory Vest and Megan Charity followed at 23:15.50 and 23:37.34 to finish 22nd and 24th, respectively.

CU had eight runners compete in the four-team, 56-person race.

Hanover College won the race, followed by Asbury, Brescia College and Campbellsville.

Campbellsville will return to action Saturday, Sept. 7 at 5:45 p.m. EDT in the Queens City Invitational 5K in Cincinnati, Ohio.
