RIO GRANDE, Ohio – Campbellsville University women's cross country claimed top prize Saturday at the University of Rio Grande Patty Forgey Invitational.
The Lady Tigers placed all seven of its runners in the Top 20 with four in the Top 10 to claim the team first-place honors.
Sarah Johnson led the way with a third-place finish in 21:00.73, while sophomore Mallory Vest was sixth and senior Rebekah Southwood was seventh with times of 21:38.26 and 21:39.01, respectively. Megan Charity and Shelby Courtney also finished back-to-back in 10th and 11th places with times of 22:16.16 and 22:26.83.
Maggie Calvert placed 14th in a time of 22:47.81, while Jennifer Hatley was 21st in 23:35.30.
Ohio Valley's April Kirk claimed top prize as an individual with a time of 20:34.49, while Rio Grande's Brittany Piccone was second in 20:44.85.
Campbellsville will return to action Saturday, Oct. 5 in the Greater Louisville Classic.
