Box Score 2 CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. — The Lady Tigers used five hits, seven walks and five St. Catharine errors to win game one 10-2 and then Sara Paragon hit a walk-off two-run home run in the second game at Veteran Memorial Park to send CU to 23-7, 10-2 MSC.
St. Catharine has lost eight of its last nine and falls to 8-13, 6-8 MSC.
Heather Oakley staked CU to a lead it would never relinquish in game one with a two-run shot to deep right in the first with Kristin Benton aboard. The Lady Tigers would go on to score three more runs in the second when Krystal Cammuse got herself in some deep trouble, walking five consecutive batters and serving up an RBI single to Adrean Jordan.
The Patriots got two back in the fourth when winning pitcher Victoria Decker (10-3) gave up two of her four hits. Decker walked three and fanned three in her four innings of work. Courtney Turpin relieved her for an inning and allowed one hit and struck out one.
Kristin Benton had two hits (RBI), Oakley a home run (2 RBI) and one hits each by Adrean Jordan (RBI) and Erin Benton (RBI).
In game two, Campbellsville could not get anything going, stranding 10 runners, three with no outs in the bottom of the sixth.
Shelby Ray drew a lead-off walk to starting the seventh and that's when Paragon parked a no-doubter to left-center field.
The Lady Tigers managed only six hits, two by Paragon and one each by Kristin Benton, Ray, Ray, Jordan and Erin Benton.
Taylor Wroe (8-1) was masterful in the circle, allowing one hit in seven innings, walking two and striking out seven.
Taylor Steff ruined Wroe's no-hit bid with a single in the sixth. Tiffany Wickline pitched a six-hitter for SCC, walking four and striking out a like number.
Campbellsville does not play again until Thursday, March 27 when Lindsey Wilson rolls into Veterans Memorial Park for a scheduled doubleheader, starting at 2:00.
