COLUMBIA, Ky. – Campbellsville University men's and women's swimming each finished in fifth place as a team Friday and Saturday at the Lindsey Wilson College Fall Frenzy.
CU's women qualified for the NAIA National Championships in four relays and one individual event during the two-day event.
The Lady Tigers wasted little time to qualify for their first NAIA event, taking second place in the 200-yard freestyle relay to start the tournament Friday evening. Marien Rincon, Jessica Cook, Shelby Mattingly and Bailey Foxworth teamed up for a time of 1:46.49.
The same four teamed up for NAIA qualifying times in the 400 medley (3rd, 4:32.10), 200 medley (5th, 2:06.01) and 400 free (3rd, 3:58.64).
Emily Hunter joined Rincon, Mattingly and Foxworth for a fifth-place finish (8:50.78) in the 800 free.
Foxworth took first in the 500-yard freestyle (5:43.71) and third in the 650 free (1,650). Mattingly claimed first in the 50 free with a B-cut time of 26.14. Rincon was second with a 26.73, .23 from the NAIA B standard. Rincon was also second in the 200 breast.
