CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. – Fourth-ranked Campbellsville University men's wrestling breezed past Lindenwood University-Belleville Friday night in its first spotlight dual of the season at Gosser Gym.

The Tigers took an 18-6 lead to start the dual with a series of forfeits in the first four weights. Freshman 149-pounder Alex Becker started the night with a win at 157 pounds, but Lindenwood-Belleville's Sean Black answered with a 12-5 decision over L.J. Henderson at 165 pounds.

Fifth-ranked Travis McIntosh pinned his opponent at 174 pounds, followed by an 8-4 decision by No. 9 Chuck Sharon at 184 pounds. Evan Decker (197 pounds) also picked up a first-round pin. Freshman heavyweight Nate Jackson capped the night with a 5-2 win over Darius Lewis. Tied 1-1, Lewis stumbled and Jackson jumped on him for a go-ahead takedown.

"We haven't competed a lot since national duals. Our guys were ready. They wrestled good tonight. Our gas tank was good. Hopefully we'll have a good weekend going to Life. It will be an important match in the conference and region," CU head coach Franky James said.

Campbellsville (8-2, 1-0 MSC) will return to Mid-South Conference action Sunday when it travels to Life University in Marietta, Ga., to dual Life and Brewton-Parker College.
