CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. – Campbellsville University dropped its second-straight Mid-South Conference dual Friday, falling 24-9 to No. 12 Lindsey Wilson College in Gosser Gym.

Cole Manion started the night with a 6-3 win for the Tigers, scoring three near fall points in the second period to help put away the 125-pound match. It was the true freshman's first home match.

Davion Caston lost 4-2 to 10^th ranked Keaton Thomas to even the team score, 3-3, and then Daniel Leonard rallied from a 3-0 deficit to knock off 141-pounder Sam Conners. After Leonard evened the match score, 3-3, Conners scored an escape to take a 4-3 lead entering the third period. Leonard escaped to start the third period and took down Conners for the 6-5 win.

LWC took the team lead, 6-3, following the 141 match and then pulled together another upset at 149, as unranked Isaac Thomas scored a late takedown for a sudden victory win, 4-2. Top-ranked Joe Cozart carried the momentum with a 4-1 decision over No. 4 Shawn McGhee at 157 pounds.

LJ Henderson, another freshman Tiger, stopped the drought with a 7-0 win, falling just short of a major decision at 165 pounds, and then Travis McIntosh scored on an escape and stalling point to beat Erick Gomez, 2-1, at 174 pounds to pull the Tigers within three, 12-9.

Lindsey Wilson pulled away in the upper weights though, as Michael Pixley took down ninth-ranked Chuck Sharon and then scored six near fall points in the first period to go up 8-0. Pixley had more than two minutes riding time when Sharon was forced to default due to injury, giving CU an 18-9 lead.

The Tigers needed to win its final two matches, including one by pin, to even the dual, but Nate Knauf and Terrell Moore each dropped decisions at 197 and heavyweight.

CU (9-4, 1-2 MSC) will remain home next week to host Cumberland University on Tuesday and University of the CUmberlands (Ky.) on Friday. Both duals are scheduled for 7 p.m. ET.
