RALEIGH, N.C. — Campbellsville had double duty this weekend, following up Saturday's duals at North Carolina State with an open tournament on Sunday. Four Tigers made some noise at the end by finishing in the quarterfinal stage.
Ninth ranked Cole Manion (133), No. 16 L.J. Henderson (165), Justin Brown (174) and Miguel Santis (185) were the four Tigers who advanced to the quarterfinals.
The Tigers stay on the road and head to the Ohio Northern Invitational in Ada, Ohio on Saturday, Dec. 5.

Here's how CU wrestlers faired:
In the 133 lb. weight class, Manion defeated Jeyson Guardado of Gardner-Webb by an 11-2 major decision. He then won by a 6-4 decision over Logan Harvich of George Mason-UNA in the round of 16. In the quarterfinals, he defeated Esteban Gomez-Rivera of American in a 15-0 tech fall. Manion lost in the consolation round of four due to forfeit.Â
David Sparks the 14th ranked wrestler in the 141 lb. weight class, defeated Brendan Ryan of Virginia Tech in the round of 32 by a 6-1 decision. Sparks went on to the round of 16 where he fell to Adam Whitesell of Maryland by a 7-6 decision. In the first consolation round of eight, Sparks took down Billy McClelland of Davidson in 3:53. In the second consolation round of eight, Sparks lost to Jack Mutchnik of American by a 4-2 decision.
In the 149 lb. weight class, N.C. State's Chandler Pyke took down Deven Taylor in the opening round of 64 in 6:07. Taylor received a bye in the consolation round of 32, but in the consolation round of 16, he fell to Shane Arechiga of Maryland in 5:23.
Andrew Hoskins received a bye in the round of 64, but then recorded an 18-3 tech fall to the NCAA No. 3 Shyheim Brown of Maryland in the round of 32. Hoskins received another bye in the first consolation round of 16. He went on to defeat Shane Arechiga of Maryland by a 7-2 decision. In the consolation round of eight, Hoskins fell to Danny Boychuck of UMD-UNA in an 18-3 tech fall.
Campbellsville's No. 6 ranked Kyle Terry (157 pounds) received a bye in the round of 32, but then fell to Connor Bass of Duke by a 10-2 major decision. He went on to the first consolation round of eight were he defeated Campbellsville's Adam Hudson in a 22-7 tech fall at 6:20. In the second consolation round of eight, NCAA No. 2 Blake Roulo of George Mason-UNA defeated Terry in a 14-6 major decision.
Also, in the 157 lb. weight class Hudson opened in the round of 32, falling to Cole Mangum of Appalachian State-UNA in 12 seconds. In the consolation round of 16, Hudson won by a 12-2 major decision over Melik Jimenez of Campbell-UNA. Hudson lost by 22-7 tech fall to teammate, Terry in the consolation round of eight.
No. 16 L.J. Henderson (165 pounds) defeated Monte Britton of UNA by a 2:21 fall in the round of 32. Next, Henderson defeated Elijah Kerr-Brown of UNC-UNA by 6-4 decision. In the quarterfinals, he lost a 6-3 decision to Colton Jackson of Appalachian State-UNA, and in the consolation round of four, Henderson fell to NCCAA No. 1 Austin Trott of Gardner-Webb-UNA by forfeit.
In the 174 lb. weight class, No. 15 Sean Black fell to NCAA No. 2 Blaze Shade of UNCP-UNA in 5:57. Black received a bye in the first consolation round of 16 and went on to defeat Lance Armentra of UNC-UNA by fall in 2:53. In the second consolation round of eight, Black defeated Nathaniel Powers of Davidson in a 16-3 major decision. In the consolation round of four Black forfeited to Cody Harrington of UNA.
No. 12 Justin Brown (174 pounds) had a bye in the round of 32, and then defeated NCAA No. 3 Bryce Carr of UTC-UNA by a 6-4 decision. In the quarterfinals, Brown fell to Justin Lampe of Chattanooga by a 12-6 decision. In the consolation round of four, Brown forfeited to Timothy Kniple from the Citadel.
Miguel Santis (184 pounds) had a bye in the round of 32, and in the round of 16 he defeated Kyle Pritchard of Davidson by a 3-1 decision. In the quarterfinals, Santis forfeited against NCAA No. 1 Huston Evans of Newberry.
In the 285 lb. weight class, NCAA No. 4 Dawson Peck of Maryland-UNA defeated NAIA 16th ranked Terrell Moore in a 10-0 major decision. Moore received a bye in the consolation round of 16, and then he faced teammate Hashem Omari and won a 4-1 decision. In the second consolation round of eight Moore forfeited to Chris McDermand of American.
Hashem Omari (285 weight class) opened with a 5-3 decision over Tommie Turner of Cumberland University. In the round of 16, Omari faced NCAA No. 2 Jacob Kasper of Duke-UNA, falling in a 7-1 decision. Omari then fell to Moore in the consolation of eight round.Â
