WILLIAMSBURG, Ky. — Campbellsville's men and women both sit in third place in the inaugural Mid-South Conference Swimming Championships at the Dinah Taylor Aquatic Center on the University of the Cumberlands campus.

"We had a great day today," said coach Casey Smith. "We had many big time drops and really great swims. I am very proud of all of my athletes today. They are all working very hard and doing well together."

Shelby Mattingly and Bailey Foxworth lead the charge for the Lady Tigers with 22 and 13 points, respectively. Filippo Albertino leads the men with 13 points.

Cumberlands leads both the men's and the women's divisions with 291 and 316 points, respectively. Men's Day 1 Scores: Cumberlands 291, Lindsey Wilson 228, Campbellsville 103, Bethel 45. Women's Day 1 Scores: Cumberlands 316, Lindsey Wilson 198, Campbellsville 123, Life 98.

Thirty-six events — 18 men and 18 women — will be contested over the two days, including five relay events per gender.

The 2015 championships replace the Mid-South Conference Invitational hosted by Lindsey Wilson (Ky.) each of the last two seasons.

The invitational elevated to the MSC Championships following swimming becoming an official conference sport for the 2014-15 season.
