Box Score LEBANON, Tenn. - Campbellsville University Tiger Tennis picked up not only another big road victory Tuesday, but also a conference win with a 7-2 triumph at Cumberland University.
Ten days ago the Tigers defeated No. 11 William Carey University at the Auburn-Montgomery Invitational. That was the highest ranked opponent a Kyle Caven-coached team had defeated. Today that feat was bested when the Tigers defeated the 10th-ranked Bulldogs.
"I'm very happy we got our first conference win," said Caven. "We've had a good start to the season with our biggest matches coming up in the next couple of weeks. We want to keep building toward April."
The Tigers won doubles action, 2-1, and were able to pick up five victories in singles play. With the win, the Tigers moved their record to 4-2. The team will return to action on March 21 when they host the University of Northwestern Ohio at the Kelly Hall Tennis Complex. Later on Tuesday, the NAIA released the recent Top 25 poll with the Tigers ranked No. 20.
