MARIAN, Ind. — It was a tale of two matches for Campbellsville University tennis this afternoon. The 19th-ranked Tigers ran away with an 8-1 victory over Indiana Wesleyan but the Lady Tigers fell to the 25th-ranked Wildcats, 1-8.

The men's team improved to 11-4 on the season and has won seven of its last eight matches. Its only loss in that stretch came to No. 5 Lindsey Wilson College.

The Lady Tigers fell to 9-7 overall, which snapped a two-match win streak. The women's team had won eight of its previous nine matches.

Both teams will stay in Marian, Ind. and play Marian University Sunday, April 12 starting at 1 p.m. ET.

Today on the men's side, the Tigers swept all three doubles matches but two were hard fought victories in tiebreaks. Alejandro Soriano and Vladyslav Ladygin teamed up to take down IWU's No. 1 dup of Kyle Johnson and Brandon Dubuque, 9-8 and won 7-4 in the tiebreak set.

Sebastian Marot and Zach Baulch took down Gavin White and Leonard Matthews, 9-8 and won 7-3 in the tiebreak. Nathan Boniel and Parker Jones defeated Adam Wroughton and Joel Montgomery, 8-6.

In singles play, the Wildcats stole one match from the top spot in another nail-bitter. Kyle Johnson defeated Ladygin, 3-6, 6-3 (11-4) to knock off the freshman after playing in his first No. 1 singles match.

That was the lone match Indiana Wesleyan would win after Soriano, Boniel, Marot, Jones, Ben Ward and Eduardo Mendoza won their singles match.

On the women's side, CU's only win came from Jenna Sallee at the No. 3 singles spot. The senior from Elizabethtown, Ky. defeated Courtney Siepman, 6-1, 6-3. 

The Lady Tigers' doubles matches were close but the Wildcats prevailed with a sweep. Anna Tumanyan and Haley Dallas fell to Katie Wilson and Kim Mella, 9-8. Megan Charity and Sallee fell to Rachel Bottorff and Kelsey Vessels, 8-4. Lindy Charity and Meg Brown also fell, 8-4, to Ellen Hornett and Diane Jones.
