Box Score CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. — Men's and women's tennis completed the weekend sweep for Campbellsville University athletics. CU hosted St. Catharine College this afternoon at the Kelly Hall Tennis Complete and came away with impressive wins on senior day.Â
The Tigers won 8-1 over the Patriots and the Lady Tigers finished with a clean sweep, 9-0.
Seniors Sebastian Marot, Alfredo Bencid, Anna Tumanyan, Jenna Sallee, Megan Charity and Lindy Charity were all recognized before the match.
Five of the six came away with victories in their final matches at home but more importantly finished the regular season for Campbellsville on a high note. The Lady Tigers moved to 11-7 overall and sit just outside the NAIA Polls at No. 27. The Tigers finished the regular season ranked No. 19 in the polls with a record 13-4. The CU men also finished one game behind Lindsey Wilson College (6-0) in the MSC standings.
Campbellsville picked up three wins in the doubles matches from the duo's of Alejandro Soriano/Vladyslav Ladygin, Sebastian Marot/Zach Baulch and Nathan Boniel/Parker Jones.
Soriano, Ladygin, Boniel Marot and Johan Fuzellier all picked up singles wins for the Tigers.
On the women's side, CU won all nine of its matches. Anna Tumanyan and Lindy Charity won their doubles match, 8-0, Megan Charity and Jenna Sallee won, 8-0 and Meg Brown and Sarah Coffman won by default.
On the singles side, the Lady Tigers did not allow a single point to be recorded for the Patriots. All four singles matches were won, 6-0 and the final two Campbellsville won by default.
Both teams will now have get ready to compete in the MSC Championships in Bowling Green, Ky. The tournaments will start on Thursday, April 23 and go through Saturday, April 25. More information will be posted closer to the start of the tournament.
