Box Score BOWLING GREEN, Ky. — (RESULTS) The 2015 Mid-South Conference men's tennis championship started out in quick fashion for 19th-ranked Campbellsville. The Tigers defeated Cumberland University, 5-1 to move on to tomorrow's semifinal match.
The two-seeded Tigers (14-4) will now face University of Pikeville at 9/10 a.m. ET tomorrow, April 24 at Kereiakes Park. Since inclement weather is moving into the area for Saturday, match times have been moved up one hour to try and finish the tournament tomorrow evening.
The Tigers and Bulldogs went to battle in doubles play first and split the only two matches played. No. 1 doubles Alejandro Soriano and Vladyslav Ladygin lost, 8-4 to Andres Burgos and Jarrod Ritson.
But that was the lone match Campbellsville would lose the rest of the day.
Sebastian Marot and Zach Baulch teamed to take down Jose Ortega and Dylan Nelson, 8-5. CU won by default in the third doubles match because Cumberland University did not have another double's team.

In singles play, Campbellsville won its No. 6 match by default and only needed two wins to seal the match. Soriano and Parker Jones picked up those wins without much trouble. Soriano defeated Ritson, 6-0, 6-3 and Jones defeated Madison Mummert, 6-0, 6-1.
Ladygin, Marot and Nathan Boniel were all leading their singles matches, before play stopped because Campbellsville had already sealed the victory.
Cumberland University ends its season after being ranked in the preseason Top 10, with a 1-13 overall record.
The Lady Tigers will now meet up with Shawnee State University later this afternoon at 4/5 p.m. ET at Kereiakes Park.
