Box Score BOWLING GREEN, Ky. — For the first time since 2012, Campbellsville men's tennis is heading to the Mid-South Conference finals. The Tigers defeated University of Pikeville, 5-1 and will now play Lindsey Wilson College for the championship.
Campbellsville lost one match overall in No. 2 doubles, 8-5, but swept the other matches. The wins started with Alejandro Soriano and Vladyslav Ladygin winning, 8-5. Nathan Boniel and Parker Jones also won in No. 3 doubles, 9-8.
In singles play, Soriano and Boniel both won their matches. Soriano won, 7-5, 6-0 and Boniel won, 6-2, 6-3. Also Sebastian Marot swept his singles match, 6-0, 6-0 to seal the Campbellsville victory.
Matches that started but did not finish: Ladygin was leading, 6-2, 3-2; Johan Fuzellier was leading, 6-2, 3-4; and Parker Jones was up, 2-1 before Campbellsville sealed the victory with the above wins.
With the win, Campbellsville (15-4) extends its win streak to a season-high seven games. The Tigers and No. 1 Blue Raiders will now meet up at 4 p.m. ET this afternoon for the finals match at Kereiakes Park.
