Box Score BOLWING GREEN, Ky. — For the first time since 2012, Campbellsville men's tennis played its way to the Mid-South Conference finals but the Tigers fell to No. 5 Lindsey Wilson College, 5-0.
Campbellsville defeated University of Pikeville earlier Friday morning, 5-1, in the semifinals but had to play the finals match the same day because of anticipated weather roaming into the Bowling Green area.
Lindsey Wilson earned the conferences automatic bid into next month's NAIA National Championships in Mobile, Ala. with the victory. It was the 12th MSC Tournament Championship for Lindsey Wilson after they also were the regular season championship.
The Blue Raiders improved their win-streak to 17-straight matches – a program record - sweeping doubles play, 3-0 and singles, 5-0.
Fourteenth-ranked Raul Mendez and Denis Porcic teamed up to beat Sebastian Marot and Zach Baulch, 8-4 for the Blue Raiders first point. Also, Parker Jones and Nathan Boniel lost, 8-5 to Ignacio Huertas and Pablo Vilches for Lindsey Wilson to take a 2-0 lead.
Francisco Charters and Edberg Espinoza – ranked No. 4 in the NAIA in doubles - defeated No. 20 Alejandro Soriano and Vladyslav Ladygin, 8-6.
Campbellsville then fell in singles at the No. 6 and No. 2 positions to seal the victory for Lindsey Wilson.
