LEXINGTON, Ky. — Campbellsville swimming tallied nine season-bests - three of those being career bests - at Transylvania University on Saturday, Jan. 30, but it just wasn't enough as the Tigers lost 119-39 and the Lady Tigers fell, 124-79.Â

The women's 200-yard freestyle relay won their race with a final time of 1:48.78 - two seconds faster than the second place team. Members of the relay include — Jessica Cook, Katy Lewis, Bailey Foxworth and Shelby Mattingly. With that time, these four Lady Tigers have qualified for the NAIA National Touranament with an "A" cut.
Mattingly also gathered two individual first place finishes — in the 50-yard freestyle, with a time of 25.84 and in the 100-yard freestyle finishing in 57.37.Â
"It was a great last dual meet for us," said coach Casey Smith. "We had a lot of good swims, teamwork and a great indication that we are set up for conference. I am very excited for next week. I think we are ready for an excellent championship meet. Everyone is working hard and getting focused."
Six Lady Tigers had a season or career best at Transylvania. Foxworth started the day in the right direction, recording the first season-best of the day in the third event. She finished the 1000-yard freestyle in 11:39.05, slicing nearly 26 seconds off her previous time of 12:05.10.
In the 50-yard freestyle Cook finished in 28.11, good for a new season-high. Also, in the 50 freestyle, Amber Wright (31.53) and Meika Hamblin (31.98) swam career best. In the 100-yard breaststroke Morgan Bryant recorded a new career best (1:26.41) while Wright had her fastest time of the season, finishing in 1:34.44.
Lindsey Buckman earned a career best in the 100-yard butterfly finishing at 1:18.39.
Three Tigers performed well producing season bests. Alex Meade was the first Tiger to beat a personal time, doing so in the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 2:11.58. Meade also swam the 100-yard butterfly for the first time at Campbellsville. He is coming back from two shoulder surgeries in the past three years.Â
Austin Tucker was next in the 100-yard butterfly, finishing in 1:07.84, cutting nearly three seconds off is pervious best time. Brandon Wiseheart recorded a new season best in the 100-yard freestyle with a time of 56.42.Â
Campbellsville will now have a few days of practice before traveling to the Mid-South Conference championship in Kingsport, Tenn. on Wednesday, Feb. 3.
