CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. — In the first dual meet of the season, Tiger and Lady Tiger swimming met a trio of NAIA Standards and a pair of school records went down against Bethel University today.
The Lady Tigers picked up their first win of the season, 150-51, while three relays qualified for NAIA Standards. The Tigers swam past the Wildcats, 128-72.
In the 400 Meter Medley Relay, the team of
Jen Lewis,
Emily Hunter,
Lindsey Buckman and
Jessica Cook finished in first place with a time of 4:51.36 – beating the NAIA standard by almost 30 seconds. In addition,
Faith Hyde,
Lauren Dalton,
Kate Bouldin and
Sara Beth Howard finished in second place with a time of 5:10.50.
In the 400 Meter Freestyle Relay, Dalton, Hyde, Cook and Howard also met an NAIA standard with a time of 4:39.85.
After breaking school records last weekend at the Lindsey Wilson Fall Franzy, Dalton enshrined her name in the record books in a meter pool today. Dalton swam a time of 1:14.05 in the 100 Meter Backstroke to place first and move
Bailey Foxworth's time of 1:15.71 in 2012-13 to No. 2.
On the men's side,
Isaac Lewis moved teammate
Chris Telman down the record board today. Lewis finished in first place with a time of 2:32.67 in the 200 Meter Individual Medley – breaking Telman's record by just under a half second.
The Tigers and Lady Tigers will now travel to Emmanuel College in Franklin Springs, Ga. next Saturday, Oct. 8 for their second dual meet.
