CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. – Tiger tennis swept the Indiana University East Red Wolves today, 9-0, in their first regular-season match.
Campbellsville (1-0) controlled the match from the get-go collecting all three doubles victories over Indiana University East (4-2).
The Tigers'
Victor Ahlbeck and
Johan Fuzellier claimed the first doubles match over the Red Wolves' Keaton Akers and Colton Shipley, 8-3.
Campbellsville's
Alex Spalding and
Mehdi Bichiri won the second doubles match with a score of 8-1, while
Alberto Perez and
Hercilio Cabieses seized the third match, 8-5.
On the singles side, both Campbellsville's Ahlbeck and Cabieses cleared their respective competition, Akers and Jacob Thompson, 6-0, 6-0. Fuzellier triumphed over the Red Wolves' Shipley to gain the second singles match, 6-2, 6-0.
Other Tigers collecting singles wins were Perez (6-1, 6-0) over Alex Shelby, Bichiri (6-1, 6-3) over Hunter Wilson, and Spalding (6-1, 6-3) over Scott Radford.
Men's tennis travels to Bass-Rudd Tennis Center for the Louisville Fall Invitational Tournament October 15-16 to wind up the fall season.
